Winemaking has been part of the tradition of the Doix family for five generations, since before the advent of the cooperative. In 1878, one brother rode on a mule to Paris and his wine won a gold medal. Juan Doix, the family patriarch, is retired now, but he has taken his daughter-in-law, Maite, under his wing and shared his knowledge of their vineyards. While she nurtures the grapes, Sandra, Maite’s daughter, is the enologist looking after the wines. The Doix family tradition of commitment to land and family continues.
